{"id":6135,"date":"2022-03-14T16:46:58","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T15:46:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/startup-city.de\/?p=6135"},"modified":"2022-03-14T16:53:35","modified_gmt":"2022-03-14T15:53:35","slug":"the-u-s-embassy-startup-pitch-competition-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/startup-city.de\/en\/the-u-s-embassy-startup-pitch-competition-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"The U.S. Embassy StartUp Pitch Competition 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Are you a startup or early-stage tech company from Germany interested in expanding into the United States?\u202f If so, then you are invited to apply to participate in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trade.gov\/germany-startup-pitch-competition\">U.S Embassy\u2019s Second Annual Startup Pitch Competition<\/a> on Thursday, April 28 from 15:00 \u2013 17:00 Central Europe Time.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u202f10 startups will be selected to participate and make their pitch before a panel of judges:\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jewellsparks\/\">Jewell Sparks<\/a>, Venture Partner &amp; Chief Executive Officer at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bithousegroup.com\/\">BiTHOUSE\u202fVenture Group Inc.<\/a>, Managing Director UNITED17 Ventures UG, Guest Lecturer WHU &#8211; Otto Beisheim School of Management<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/parulmadan\/\">Parul Madan<\/a>, Founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/duedash.com\/\">DueDash Capital Investments<\/a> and serial entrepreneur, investor, advisor\u202f<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/nl.linkedin.com\/in\/samarthshekhar\">Samarth Shekhar<\/a>, Regional Manager (EMEA) of <a href=\"https:\/\/sixthirty.co\/\">SixThirtyVentures<\/a> and co-founder of the 2013 FinTech Forum and recognized member of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dowjones.com\/press-room\/financial-news-publishes-inaugural-list-best-brightest-fintech-fintech-40\/\">WSJ \/ FN FinTech40<\/a> &#8220;40 Innovators Shaping the Future of Finance&#8221; in 2014.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/de.linkedin.com\/in\/alois-eder-013b0460\">Alois Eder<\/a>, Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intel.de\/content\/www\/de\/de\/now\/ignite\/overview.html\">Intel Ignite<\/a>, who has 20 years of experience in the high-tech industry, including with key industry members such as Siemens, Texas Instruments and Infineon. &nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/de.linkedin.com\/in\/hanselstner\">Hans Elstner<\/a>, CEO and Founder, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rooom.com\/\">rooom AG<\/a>, marketing tech entrepreneur who recently successfully opened his first investment location in the United States.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The U.S. Embassy Startup\u202fPitch\u202fCompetition 2.0 will be held virtually on WebEx, and all pitches are limited to 4 minutes, followed by 3 minutes of Q&amp;A from the panel.<br><br>The winner of the competition will receive a free virtual ticket to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.selectusasummit.us\/\">9<sup>th<\/sup> Annual SelectUSA Investment Summit<\/a> (June 26-29) and the opportunity to pitch in the final competition in front of venture capitalists, corporate investors, representatives from startup ecosystems, and industry experts at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.selectusasummit.us\/Programming\/SelectUSA-Tech\">SelectUSA Tech<\/a> program at the Investment Summit. All participants will be highlighted on U.S. Embassy Berlin social media during <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tiw2022.com\/\">Transatlantic <\/a>Innovation Week, April 25-28.\u202f\u202f<br><br>To apply for the Pitch Competition \u2013 Germany, please <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/pages\/responsepage.aspx?id=8oPRoXtsmk25lF8vMbP3gIhoFVqTqzNNmCMP1UCUciVUQTRIWFZBRDNOSFlOQlFQV1A3NFA3NjJYRiQlQCN0PWcu\"><strong>REGISTER HERE<\/strong><\/a> by March 31.\u202f Companies selected to participate will be notified by April 8.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>German companies interested in applying must meet the following criteria:\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Less than 8 years old;\u202f<\/li><li>Up to $10 million in revenue;\u202f<\/li><li>Up to 40 employees; \u202f<\/li><li>Developing a new technology product or service, or delivering an existing technology to a market in new ways; and<\/li><li>Ability to pitch in English\u202f<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u202fAll interested applicants are encouraged to apply.\u202f Priority will be given to solutions in the following categories: Clean Tech, Cybersecurity, eCommerce &amp;
